... I shall test my endurance to the cold in full!

The past couple of nights had been relatively mild.

However, it is freezing tonight. The sky is clear and there will be a very hard frost for certain!

I am typing this with a fleece blanket over 3 layers of clothing, which includes thermal base layer.

My legs are feeling the cold, and I shall put on some thermals soon.

The heater is on full already, however, I can feel the cold air descending from the top of the tent! So I shall probably wear gloves soon!

At least it is dry, as it would be very miserable had it be cold as well as wet!

My next door neighbour in a tent does not have sufficient heating, and he slept fully clothed last night, and used his suitcase stove as heater, inside a tent!!!

I lent him my spare gas heater. OK, officially, it should not be used inside a tent, however, it is a lot safer than using a stove as a heater!!!

Thank goodness I have an electric under-blanket tonight, as well as a spare fleece blanket or two!

I must refrain from drinking too much before I go to bed, in case I have to make a trip to the toilet block in the middle of the night!

And yes, I am enjoying this btw. Had a wonderful day walking along the beach with the pooch that loves the sand!

Not sure if I would do it again though, only time will tell! At least I know I have sufficient gear for cold weather camping, in case I find someone as mad or stupid as me in the future!!!

What is it with woman and cold???

Every woman i have been in a relationship with were the same, 3 layers of clothes, house coat, big fluffy socks, slippers, heating on full bung and they're still cold!!

Am sitting here in just my boxers and a t-shirt with the heating on a notch its -10 out there

Pearl darling, I'm sorry but I have to say this... I think you're bloody mad, lol. I can't stand being cold, and camping on a night like this to me is crazy. Take care and keep warm, grab another body to share your bed with for heat! (preferably male and hot)

remember your hat Pearl.... been camping in the cold before and ended up with everyone sleeping in my tent for body heat. Remember to post as soon as you can in the morning please, so we all know you made it through the night. TC xxxxxxx

camping in this weather would be my worse night mare, i just couldn't do.

pearl hun grab the man from next door like someone else said, hope the pooch has a coat on as well, as long as your enjoying yourself hun let us know first thing as soon as you can keep warm

Eh, I am in a tent, a nylon one, and not a cosy canvas one, in the middle of a campsite in South Devon, and not in the comfort of my own home!

I grabbed something that is hot, the gas heater I lent to my neighbour!

One heater was not enough tonight, so I had to get it back.

Hopefully, he'll be able to cope without it. Mind you, he was kind enough to give it back to me, and reminded me that it is mine in the first place!

I'll be fine, don't worry. The electric under-blanket and the heater will keep me and the pooch warm through the night!

Nah, no one would bet against me doing anything stupid!!!

I like camping, and would like to extend my camping "season" beyond Jun to Sep.

Hence I thought if I could do it in Dec, then I should be able to do it anytime during the year, that's all!

He is still with us.

He "should" come prepared, as he is not a newbie to camping!

He resisted from getting some proper camping gear for some time now, so it is time he gets some!

Fancy taking a bulky convection heater to a campsite, that does not generate much heat, and his sleeping bag is 3-season tops if that much!

I'll rather sleep with the pooch than my next door neighbour to be honest!

The pooch is fine, he has a nice fleece coat on, and is fast asleep next to my feet, bless him!

Not going to the dark side to get a caravan for at least another 5 to 10 years, trailer tent first!

Next door has packed up and gone home a day early.

Thank goodness for that, as he was beginning to bore me with his whinging/moaning etc...

He is obsessed about keeping his tent dry and clean inside, to the point of being anal IMHO!

A tent is not for show, it is to be used, and being used = getting it dirty IMHO!

-4 deg C here tonight, so I'd better wrap up warm!

Must do as much packing as possible tonight, as I shall be striking camp early tomorrow morning!

I have gone in Feb before with a Scottish lassie - and i had to lend her all my extra blankets and my hot water bottle as it was she who ended up being freezing - and i thought the Scottish were well hard, and wore tshirts at - 10!!!

Of course, I am not that stupid!

Got a fan heater and an electric under-blanket, as well as a gas heater, plus a 13 tog duvet, with a sleeping bag opened up on top, so it is very cosy!
