"What to do about time wasters, especially those who fail to meet despite their devout promises? It happens to us all." Luckily it's not happened to me! But not had many meets lol. I just don't get it though, why no show, at least drop a message to say you can't make it.

"What to do about time wasters, especially those who fail to meet despite their devout promises? It happens to us all." If you're going to arrange a meet with a stranger you've never met before then it's wise to do the following. Get an off site contact method, preferably a phone number. If they won't give any, don't make plans at all. Speak on the day of any planned meet early on. No answer? Sack the idea off. Call again an hour or so before the proposed meet time and definitely before leaving home. No answer? See above. People only waste your time if you let them. Sometimes in life things happen, but if the only method of communication you have is via Fab you're running the risk of getting let down more than if you have alternative means of contact.

"What to do about time wasters, especially those who fail to meet despite their devout promises? It happens to us all." Had one the other night. Everything looked true to their profile, saying the right things, they wanted to come to me but I can't accommodate. Ask for their address and go get dressed. Haven't heard from them since. Reported and moved on. First and last time I respond positively to "wanna play right now?"

" This is all fair enough but giving your phone number to someone you haven't met is madness, people can turn out to be weirdos and you can assess that better once you have met them and can then decide whether it's safe to give them your number or not!

Fab phone. I have one. With a £6/mth sim. I'd much rather be able to speak to someone than rely on words on a screen.

I only just found this out for what it's worth.

" Even doing this, we have had people claim to be on the way, even saying that they are on the street outside the entrance to the building. Unfortunately OP it's just something you can expect to happen at some point. You can minimize it with the advice here, and by just developing a sense for them but even then people will find a way. We have also had people who have completely faked their entire personality over messages. TBH, I think I prefer the no shows to that because i HATE second hand embarrassment, and one in particular was here for an hour or two just talking absolute bollocks that never happened. It was STUPID lies too, about how he got kicked in the chest by a massive shire horse working for the queen and it was 15 hands high (for anyone not horsey, an inch shorter than 15 hands high is a pony). Yeah, I'd take Ten no shows over that any day 😂
