They're removed if they break site rules and the guidelines given to those approving image uploads. Occasioanlly some slip through and may well be removed later if reported. It's not personal. I couldn't give a fig what two consenting adults get up to, indulge in many a thing that I wouldn't be able to upload photos of and should I want to see such images/videos, I know exactly where to go to find them. There wouldn't be enough hours in the day to approve the volume of photos added though and you'd likely be waiting weeks to get yours approved. People are human. Mistakes are made. However, as has been previously mentioned, I had a photo removed from the couples profile we had while the other party displaying the same picture wasn't. Consistency is not a forte.
If you only had one photo mods for the site there'd be 100% consistency.
There wouldn't be enough hours in the day to approve the volume of photos added though and you'd likely be waiting weeks to get yours approved.
People are human. Mistakes are made. Some are corrected later and some slip through the net.
There are no paid staff on the site just volunteers. Always worth remembering.
