third star on the right

We are looking for inspiration for a weekend away, flexible dates wise and it's going to be child free (Yay!)

Looking to stay in the UK and we have a few places we have looked at but we are hoping for some new ideas.

So, lovely forumites, where do you recommend?

Just a break, if there's nightlife then great if not a little pub will do. Not too fussy to be honest just somewhere nice to stay and we will no doubt find some thing to do to amuse ourselves lol

Brighton can be a good place for a weekend away if you like shopping and nightlife

Ok - Here's three :-.

Oxford - Stay in the Malmaison Hotel which is a converted prison (!) and enjoy Oxford which is just full of history.

Ross on Wye & Hereford - Beautiful walks and the historic market town of Hereford and nearby Hay-On-Wye with its 10 million open-air bookshops.

Wells - Stay in England's smallest cathedral city (no, I don't count the City of London) in the Swan Hotel and have fun exploring the city and nearby Bath as well.
