nor am I to be honest, tho I will looking after certain peoples kids if they really need help but I do it to help out not cause I like kids lol

I'm a wee bit more tolerant of other children when they're with mine! The only reason being is, mine already know how far they can push me till i run away screaming!

I don't really like other peoples children much at all...

On the rare occasion that I do have them in my care, then I guess I am more tolerant because they don't know the rules the way my weeman does. He wouldn't dare do some of the things friends children have done when they are with me. (I can be quite a strict mammy and some things are not up for discussion with him)

Im not a fan of kids if im honest ive always been able to tolerate my own but sometimes think other peoples to be little monsters.

I sometimes think god if mine did that id be mortified,and luckily ive always had good reports on mine being polite if i thought they were rude to others id be upset.

I usually find it's a case of other peoples kids are better behaved when I am looking after them...just like mine behave themselves better when are at school or at a friends house. I like to think I treat all children fairly when they are in my care.

I treat them all the same. If other kids are disrespectful then I would ask them not to be... Or take them home.

I only ask as I looked after a friends son yesterday. He cried after eating his crisps because he wanted different ones (id bought him the ones he asked for) then when we went for dinner I ordered what he asked for and when it came he said he wanted something else to which I told him no, as I would my own kids, then he cried again.

I found it really irritating. If my own kids did it (to me) I wouldnt be as irritated I dont think, not sure why? I still wouldnt give them their own way though! I think I kinda expected him to behave better because he was with someone else.

So im summary I can tolerate my own far better and am easily annoyed by others

Thats probably the BIGGEST problem when looking after other folks kids. They're brought up differently from your own, (obviously), and probably quite used to getting their own way.

Kids turn on the waterworks because they are frustrated at not getting their own way.

It happens a lot when children have had long periods of getting their own way as they don't hear the word no regularly, they believe they are entitled to behave in any way they want and are very rarely disciplined by their parents for doing wrong.

Stick to your guns and treat all children fairly but be consistant with them despite the crying and tantrums.

I have taught 8-17 year olds and they all get the same treatment and I never contradicted myself by ignoring rules I had set for them or myself.

If he had done it in front of his dad he wouldve got a telling off because he's quite strict. I explained to his dad what happened when we got back and he was happy that I'd dealt with it the right way! Even though I made his kid cry lol

Always used to have a house full of kids when lived with my ex, regularly the rest of the streets kids came to ours because they could be comfortable and relaxed as we never judged or moaned at them..... My kids have boundaries and know there limits so never push it, this way we got a great friendship and bond with little or no disagreements.
