If I had a year left I would spend lots of time with family and friends as at the end of the day that’s all that matters. I would have my family and friends help plan my funeral as I don’t want it to be an affair but I want it to be a celebration of me and my life. I would try my best to kick some things off my bucket list and in general just have a good time. As for work I would cut my hours back as if I was to die whist employed my family would get help from the company and they would be better off. " I think organising stuff sounds practical. I realised at a very early age I have a biological clock that's ticking until who knows when. It doesn't bother me at all. What bothers me is the loss of autonomy in this country at least to choose a time and place of my choosing and go painlessly and with dignity. I don't feel I'd want to drag things out to the bitter end if it's inevitable, so if faced with a shorter diagnosis, I'd prefer to turn the lights out under my own volition and pace. I have less time left than when I started writing this, and that is ok. It's perfectly natural. | |||

A couple others have said a living wake and I think that idea is beautiful. " I'd give everyone their stuff from my will, so I could see them enjoying it, I have quite detailed plans for my estate,such as it is, give them all some good final memories of me. I lost a great friend a few years back and some of the stuff he did in the time he had left inspired me. | |||
