Songs with the greatest guitar solo?

Jump to newest

By *atman_and_PoisonIvy OP   Couple

The Batcave, nr. Cannock

Which songs have the most 'stand out' guitar solos for you?

The song might not even be that great, but the solo might be the best you've ever heard? ... or... the song is building up to the guitar solo which is the best part and most memorable for your ears etc

So I ask you all this... which are your favourites?

A few car examples to get the ball rolling:-

Lynyrd Skynyrd - Freebird

Smashing Pumpkins - Soma

Eagles - Hotel California

All That Remains - Six

Let's go music lovers!

Prince slaying it at the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame.

---

The back story to this is that George Harrison was posthumously being inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame and as a tribute, Tom Petty, Jeff Lyne and others are playing Harrison's song - "While my guitar gently weeps".

Prince, for most of the song is in the background just playing along, letting the others do their thing.... until it's his time to show the world what a great guitarist he is.... and God damn it is a thing of beauty.

I'm not sure I can post the youtube link here but if you search: "2021 Remaster While My Guitar Gently Weeps Prince" you'll be able to have a listen.
