"Walking in the mountains "

That does sound nice. I sometimes think hiking would be something I'd enjoy doing but I don't know where to start. Which, now I think about it, is a pretty poor excuse.

Ooh, tell me when your kids aren't driving you up the wall? Is that like, the 10 minutes after being fed or when they're asleep?

Because of illness, I haven't been for a run all year. I miss it.

The smell of summer (does summer have a smell?) seems a long way off in this bitter cold sometimes.

I am bordered by forests, thankfully. And I do love taking my pup for a walk in the woods.

Portugal is our next destination. There's a hotel we've been to before that serves some of the best food we've ever had on holiday.

Favourite is Madeira (still Portugal). The best hotel we ever stayed in is there, it was a once in a lifetime treat and we truly didn't want to leave. .

Have you any holiday plans?

Well, i would say all combination of the lot really. Kids are cute when they are asleep but nah, all are precious memories really

Oh sorry about that. Is that an illness that may improve in the near future.. to be honest, I started with bad knees and slowly improved over the years by walking first, then slow short runs and increasing the distance over time.. hate starting a run but I'm addicted to that euphoria feeling after I've completed a run. It's a feeling that I can achieve anything after that.. its very strange to be fair

Family used to walk the dogs though forests almost every weekend. Really enjoyed those walks. And I would argue that every season has it's own distinct scent. Then maybe that's just me. Summer will be here before you know it. The supposed season anyway. Weather we'll actually get one this year is still up for debate.

"Walking in the peaks or on beaches in winter, swimming, lifting heavy weights, cooking,, taking photographs, eating delicious food, being with my friends, having really filthy sex, having nice intimate sex, kissing, smiling at some of the characters and posts on here…. Most things I do bring me joy! "

Gosh, that is quite a list of joyful things. I am not having any of kind of sex lately, filthy or intimate and am definitely the worse for it.

So many have mentioned the beach that I feel like I need to make a trip to one. Interesting that you've also listed a creative pursuit in your list

Opening your lunch box put a massive smile on my face. Mostly because I pictured it being an old tin one or something with like, the Cookie Monster on it.

Are there many abandoned places to explore?

I love sea glass. Turning something as ugly as broken glass into something pretty makes me happy.

Aww. How great. Actually, on the weekend this man held the door open for me even though he was on crutches and had two very energetic children with him and I thought it was such a kind gesture that I went out of my way to be more conisiderate of others and it just made me happy to see someone barrelling at me with a grump look on their face and to see it change to a smile when they saw I was waiting to hold the door open for them.

We definitely need more random acts of kindness in the world. It feels like it takes so little to make a positive change to someone else's day.

It goes a long way if you spread it thinly and use it sparingly (I use a spatula) - use it only when necessary. My last order lasted me ages, as long as it’s properly sealed after use and kept in a warm dry environment.

Oh don’t. My dad had dementia and when I’d go to visit him in his specialised care I’d worry he wouldn’t be the same. But that first time, he had me laughing like crazy at his antics and it was so great to see him joking with the others to spread joy in his unit. It was so lovely and heartwarming to see. I’m sorry about your mum but I’m also really glad you can spend that time with her and still find that joy in each others company.

Joy to me always comes from contentment as well as the past and present.

For example, I’m having a bad day at work, however If I think back 18 years ago, this is what I wanted to do.

There is joy in that progress

Yes it is. I can't do a swimming pool find it boring and just get out after a few lengths!! 4 laps of the lake is the further I've swam so far!

Looking for new places to swim too would be great to mix both together...a meet and a swim...maybe one day..

"My cats !

Cats are such love.

Not all of the time. Have a cat flap between the kitchen and the outhouse. One of them is sat in the kitchen poking his paws through the flap to stop one of the others coming back in !"

I love that. Cats being assholes can still be love. ❤️

"Nice long walk (especially on sunny day) seeing my niece and nephews. Also appreciate my quiet chill days just taking in a few movies."

I’ve definitely been doing a lot of chill days. What’s your go to comfort film?

"Snap!! Looking forward to the spring and sunny days!! Time for longer swims in the lake!!

Gym always brings me joy.. simply things of just going up in DB weights!! Thoso thing's are so evilly!! Give me deadlifts

Is that wild swimming?

Yes it is. I can't do a swimming pool find it boring and just get out after a few lengths!! 4 laps of the lake is the further I've swam so far!

Looking for new places to swim too would be great to mix both together...a meet and a swim...maybe one day.."

Definitely sounds intriguing! I’m sure that could be tempting for some…

I had a little orange kitten once. Different lifetime ago but they are my favourite.
