I generally lay around feeling sorry for myself for a while, then eventually say "Fuck it - Time to take control" .

The trick is, whatever you have to do, to start off with, throw yourself into 100%, manically, full gas.

You don't get time to feel miserable and by lunchtime you'll be proud of what you've achieved... A degree of slacking off in afternoon is a perk of getting your arse in gear, early doors. 👊
