"A woman has had her hands bitten off while trying to take a selfie with a shark. She was paddling in the water in the northern West Indies, which are famous for beating everyone at cricket and tax evasion, when she was attacked by the evil bugger. This is all over the news! " It is what sharks may well do. And it is what stupid people do

"Perhaps she wanted a Darwin award. It's not the sharks' fault" Well the poor influencer wasn’t the one doing the attacking! Sounds like victim blaming here.

"Sharks live in the sea, it's their natural habitat. Humans live on the land, ditto. Just as when we visit foreign countries, we should respect the locals. Good to see Darwin's Law still works." Sharks don’t care if you respect them or not… they just see you as a tasty snack…..

"If you go in the sea, you accept that you're, perhaps, no longer top of the food chain. I've had many encounters with sharks, wobbiegongs, bronze whalers, silky sharks, grey reef sharks and others. They're unpredictable, wild animals, they're magnificent animals, they're beautiful animals but they are NOT, by any means 'evil'. If you want to be fully safe from sharks in the Caribbean, stay on shore, sit under a palm tree but bear in mind, more people are killed by falling coconuts than by sharks. " Nicole will heed your good advice. A caravan in Rhyl might be this years retreat.

"Perhaps she wanted a Darwin award. It's not the sharks' fault Well the poor influencer wasn’t the one doing the attacking! Sounds like victim blaming here." Sharks don't see humans as food, but if someone is dumb enough to deliberately tempt one - in it's own environment - the shark may try. Yes we are blaming the so called victim, if she hadn't been in the shark's world, she would've been safe.

"I met a dive instructor once who had lost 3 fingers to eels because he used to feed them sausages to entice them out of their caves. It's not as if they look like fingers or anything. Fair play to the eels and to this shark. " I think I'd read your autobiography - Such an adventurous life !

"My daughter was working in the Maldives filming two octopi mating and her mates were filming a white tipped reef shark circling her head, she didn't know about it till they were looking at the video when back in England. " White tips are OK, usually you go diving to see stuff like that. It's pretty rare for them to attack a human. That being said octopuses are among my favourite things to see!💛

They may need a bigger pedalo. Little known fact, sharks rarely attack dry people.
