"If I don't like the voice / style, I bin it after 5-10 mins. I'm ruthless 🤣🤣🤣" This is me! I like Richard Osman so I listen to his Entertainment one, I also like Joe Wilkinson but find on a podcast it doesn’t work so he went after 5mins 😂

"If I don't like the voice / style, I bin it after 5-10 mins. I'm ruthless 🤣🤣🤣" It's always the premise for me. I can generally get through an episode but definitely bin it off if I don't vibe with it!

"I might be weird but, to date, I’ve never listened to a podcast in my life. I also don’t intend to change this 🤷🏽 " I know when I see the title of a thread I have no interest in, I feel the comment too ![]()

"So many good ones on radio 4. In our time and hero or villain being my favourites." I oddly never thought of Radio 4 being a good source for podcasts 😅

"Learning opportunities but I find it really hard to stay engaged ![]() It's a great thing in theory to try and learn something new in your downtime, even if it is hard to stay engaged 😅 what are you learning?

"I’ve never bothered. Should I? " It's a good way to pass time or as a distraction. I listen to them either while working, or cleaning or going for a walk ![]()

"Only regular one is the Daddy of history podcasts, The Rest is History. Generally I find them a disappointing and time consuming way to absorb info and entertainment 🤷♂️." I've been meaning to get into history podcasts a lot more. Is that the one you would recommend? I do think they've become a bit oversaturated so it's tough finding the gems among the crap.

"I’ve never bothered. Should I? " I always thought this but since I found topics I like, I listen to them while I cook and on long journeys.

"I stick one on for background noise sometimes. It usually something funny that doesn’t require my full attention. The Basement Yard and ShxtsNGigs are two of my favourites. " I do prefer the more funny podcasts and having them as background noise is great! I'm not sure if you like food, but check out Off Menu hosted by Ed Gamble and James Acaster. It's my favourite one and absolutely hilarious ![]()

"I like a mixture of podcasts, started with true crime and comedy but I've listened to quite a few for learning new skills and broadening my knowledge too. Mostly listen whilst working, makes me feel like I have buddies 😅" Ooooh what comedy podcasts did you listen to? I have noticed that I listened to them more while working from home that even on the occasions I'm in the office, I don't talk to anyone 🙈😅

I'm biased but imho it's head and shoulders the best. The two presenters are serious historians but also natural communicators with great chemistry. Read that 7/10 listeners are under 40 which is interesting as presenters both older.

"I like history podcasts. I also listen to one swinging podcast which I’ve also guested on 😂 and I listen to one where two Irish women rip apart a popular series of young adult books (SVH) popular in the 80s and 90s which make me cry laughing. L" I think there a couple of swinging podcasts that people listen to but I worried it would mean I'm "in the lifestyle" if I thought it applied to me 😅 that one with the two Irish women also seems like a niche AF format 😂

"Someone Is Killing The Wolfhounds is a fictionalised podcast series of the Vietnam War. Aboit a group of soldiers plotting to kill their rogue Lieutenant. It is really fascinating and has me hooked. Another podcast I'm listening too is called the Fall of Civilizations series. Each episode is 3 hours long. Talked about Assyrians, Egyptians, Byzantines, Carthage, Mongols. " The Fall of Civilization one sound so up my street! It's fascinating how once powerful empires end up falling and the causes of them.

"Girls Next Level is my favourite- 2 of Hugh Hefner’s ex girlfriends talking about their time living in the Playboy mansion. I found the TV series fascinating and the podcast deep dives into what wasn’t shown. I personally find Holly and Bridgette adorable, although some may find them annoying lol" I think finding them annoying would be preconception based on where they came from. I certainly bet they have some stories to tell though!

"Some people listen to podcasts to help them with sleep. I'm going to try it, but it'd have to be a really boring one with a monotone voice. Any suggestions? " I never really use them to sleep. Would anyone listen to a monotone podcast? 🤔😂

"A friend asked me about podcasts this evening, and I had to confess that not only have I never listened to one, I don’t even know where you go to find them. It’s a form of media that I am oblivious to. " I use Spotify - and clearly BBC sounds ![]() ![]()

They run through the plot of each book and pull apart the terrible stereotypes, awful messaging and dreadful plot holes. For any (most likely) women who read Sweet Valley High as a kid/teen, you have to try it.

I think the monotonal Californian accents would also grate on some people.

"Science. My favourite is probably the infinite monkey cage from the beeb" ..is a strawberry dead or alive?!🍓 I'll join you there, Infinate Monkey Cage is great. Curious Cases is good too; I've got some catching up to do mind, I hadn't realised Dara O'Brien had taken over. So glad Hannah Fry still there though, she's definitely a crush!! Hannah, if you're reading this, come say hi!! 🤣🤣
