Though there is a question of semantics. If you are not the one in a relationship are *you* the one having an affair? The person you are sleeping with is having an affair, no question, as they have a partner. But if you don't have a partner, but you are sleeping with someone who is being adulterous, are you also having the affair? 🤔

People say

'she/he is having an affair with a married man/woman'. So I would say that both parties are having an 'affair'.
