Have to be compatible or down right crazy.

Watching MAFS and seeing the toxic gaslighting and going back and forth but persisting as a couple is wild to me

On the other hand you have the perfectly matched people who are always on the same wave.

There is nothing in between

I wouldn't say MAFS is an accurate portrayal of healthy or realistic relationships. It's a TV show made for entertainment.

I would agree with this. There is nothing real or authentic about it!!

They persist as couples because the 'experts ' who must go home at night and weep, persuade them to stay in unhealthy relationships otherwise there would be no show.

I stopped watching several years ago because I began to feel like a visitor to Bedlam or Madame Defarge

I have to say though that for centuries people have been encouraged to stay in unhappy, unhealthy and toxic relationships and now that it's becoming less common people complain that nobody has any commitment 🤷

I don't think commitment is the issue nowadays. I think it can be seen as commitment from one side and from the other side it's a case of unrealistic expectations.

We're in an online dating era so if you don't find your other half at university/work it is extremely hard to find someone at al. Online dating just sucks, you spend maybe 1-2 seconds judging someone before you move onto someone else.

o o OO o o

I think MAFS is purposefully made to put folk off marriage.

They don’t even match them correctly. They just light the fuse to watch it blow 💥

I don't think commitment is the issue either. I think more and more people are refusing to tolerate had relationships

Yep. Nobody would watch a show where people get on well.

Love MAFS Australia but not the Uk or USA ones. The best part is watching "experts" get it entirely wrong

WHEREVER I LAY MY HAT

My own opinion is that you would need to be slightly unhinged person to go on a show like that. Go figure

I agree. People are a lot more self focused now than a decade or two ago.

A lot of younger adults have to be career focused now if the ever want to own a house. So dating and relationships are far from a priority.

MAFS clearly put some of the couples they're to make good tv. And they match a few perfectly.

I think its a bit like loving your job. Either you just have a great job or you are the kind of person who can find satisfaction fairly easily.
