I’ve always wondered, is it five days from when you renewed or five days extra after it should have run out. Because if it’s five days from when you renewed, it’s pointless renewing five days early…

It is an extra 5 days added on, even if you renew early.

If I don't renew before it expires I generally leave it a couple of weeks.
