Messages, How long to keep…?

So sent a few messages over the last week or so, and they are still showing unread. How long do you think I should keep them before accept not going to get read/replied too and delete from my sent box?

Thinking 7 days is probably appropriate, and I would think not sending any others is the correct thing to do?

I've thought that too, just leave them as it doesn't do any harm. It sounds like most ladies & couples get a hell of a lot of messages so they don't always get to read them all quickly.

Women and couples get inundated with shit loads of messages.

They may have not just got to reading yours, try making the message stand out a bit so it catches their eye as they are scrolling through them.

Well, you say 'straight away' but in order to give the OP any semblance of satisfaction and success, he should firstly follow up his initial message with at least 3 more per day for a week, interspersed with winks and fab'd pics.

So...

The way we work it, sometimes a convo will be back and forth for a day or so.. then sometimes slows off a bit and once you've ironed out most of the things, banter, convo etc.. then its just about either waiting for the right time to meet, or availability or whatever... sometimes it just naturally fizzles out.

Normally (unless it's planned for some time in the future) we hold on to a message for about a week or so and if the convo is dead, just call it for what it is and move on.

If it's an unread situation, (decently spaced out messages etc) .. maybe a message goes unread, we leave it a couple of days and then maybe message a few days later with 'good morning' or 'just gently checking in' etc if that gets read and ignored or unread and the person is online and chooses to not read it, we just delete and move on. No point in getting cut up about things.

Keeping ontop of a healthy SENT box is key 🤙

Carlisle usually

Delete them.

It doesn't remove them from the other person's inbox.

Assume they're not interested unless you get a positive reply 💜

I give it a week at most. If I see the person I’ve messaged has been online in that time and it’s still unread, I’ll just delete the message altogether.

Constantly going to check your outbox hoping and praying that yellow message will turn white from a response that’s unlikely to come will send you crazy.

I've never deleted sent messages. I sometimes reply back to an unread message with a continuation of the prior conversation or topic. Just because it shows unread doesn't mean THEY or we can't see the snippets..

If I get an initial vile message that I have yet to bulk delete and I see another message saying Sorry, I sent that first inappropriately etc etc I might then fully read both messages.

That’s my gut feeling too, accept it’s not happening and move on

Why would you bother deleting from your sent items? I don’t get it…..

Just send a message, then carry on with your life as normal

I give them 2 weeks, then delete if left unread. I give them that time, so I can see if they straight delete the message after reading, at which point I'll block them, as I obviously don't fit what they're looking for.

I think it's folly to retain messages. If you're messaging women it's best to adopt the fire-and-forget method: delete from your Sent Folder immediately.
