Today is the day I finally put my beloved Dr Marten Chelsea boots in the bin. They have developed a large hole in the side over the last few weeks and as they are so comfy I've been treading water wearing them ( quite literally with all this rain)

So now, it is officially bin day. What are you chucking out of your life or have parted with recently?

I am just about to throw out my beloved Dr Marten 1460 shoes too because they also recently developed a hole which let the water in. Had them about 10 years so I definitely got my monies worth out of them

I've got a few back up pairs but these ones were worn in to my feet so nicely. I don't relish the forthcoming foot ouchies.

Glad you have a back up pair too. I do love a nice Chelsea boot

I had a pair of chrome-silver Asics trainers I was gifted in 2019 to train for the 2020 London Marathon.

They never saw the marathon, but they were super comfy and my travel companions… until I absentmindedly stepped on a pool of sick on a pavement in San Francisco. I slipped and THANK GOODNESS I DIDN’T FALL… 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮

So I had to put them in a bag and chuck them in the bin over there. I haven’t had any other shoes as comfy as them.

It's crazy that a lot of charity shops won't take baby equipment now adays. It's really nice that you are giving stuff away especially when everything new is so expensive. My little one had lots of pre loved treasures growing up. Well done you x

That’s sad , death of Dr. Martin’s….. I’ve just repaired mine. I did contact them and say I have this old pair and ask about accessing the lifetime warranty but I would need to find the bank statement and I have no idea when I bought them so I just decided to repair them myself.

You may well do, then you can get a new wardrobe to celebrate x

"Today is the day I finally put my beloved Dr Marten Chelsea boots in the bin. They have developed a large hole in the side over the last few weeks and as they are so comfy I've been treading water wearing them ( quite literally with all this rain)

So now, it is officially bin day. What are you chucking out of your life or have parted with recently?

Not dissimilar to you OP I have tried vainly to save my favourite pair of golf shoes ( sole coming away) but alas it hasn’t worked. Those and 4 tatty gloves went in the bin as part of the pre season clear out"

Bin em and get some new ones - having said that I think I'm going for "one more wear" today of my boots.

All my old uniform. Bagged up and ready to be shredded or burnt or whatever they do with it.

I just know I don’t need it anymore 😁

My sons 95's If he hadn't had new ones for Christmas, I think he'd have sacrificed me... They were falling apart, and stank of cat wee from the rain

That’s sad , death of Dr. Martin’s….. I’ve just repaired mine. I did contact them and say I have this old pair and ask about accessing the lifetime warranty but I would need to find the bank statement and I have no idea when I bought them so I just decided to repair them myself.

I just binned off my apartment in DUBAI. I’ve absolutely loved living there for the last two years but It’s time to do something different now.

Alaska?"

The weather in the UK is cold enough. I don’t need any northern exposure!

Tell you what I binned everything out my fucking fridge and freezer. I'd accidently pulled the plug out and didn't notice and everything has gone off so I'm pissed off. Now I've got to restock my freezer

The daughters old bed - once we finish putting the new one together. 4 hours it said it should take. So far we're 10 hours in and it's still not finished

I wholeheartedly support those entrepreneurs that started a furniture assembling business. I can't deal with putting stuff together. Hope you get if sorted soon x

Can you not take them to a cobblers (Timpsons) for an overhaul if they are sentimental enough?

You know the DM factory in Northampton can do repairs on them right, they can repair anything there! X
