Ok, let’s flip it on its head. Loads of posts of “my message ignored”.

For you personally, what would the perfect first message look like?

For us:

Hi , I am / we are.

Been around the LS for xy years.

I’m / we’re into this kind of stuff.

I am going to the same club as you on whatever date and would love to have a drink.

Attached face pics and full body (clothed)

That would pique our interest

I genuinely don’t think there’s any such thing.

So many people seek so many different things in a first received message, that a person will never find a one size fits all approach.

It has face pictures of faces we fancy and it’s got some kind of personality in the message that we can respond too.

Great!

You don’t have an ideal first message that if landed in your inbox would make you go, Yep, that’s got me interested

?

No.

I’ve had my interest piqued from a simple hello. And I’ve been bored to tears by an essay full of waffle.

For me it would be something that showed a genuine intent to meet. Too much preamble can be boring and a “how r u?” tells me nothing (other than you didn’t pay attention in English classes at school)

Not sure about the perfect first message. What I absolutely hate is filthy dirty one liners, when it's clear he is wanking...automatically deleted

One that references something we have in common. My profile makes that easy.

"“Yo Sugartits, how goes it?”"

Chuck a "what's occurring?" In there and it's perfect!!

I don't have an ideal first message. I don't think there is such as a thing for me.

The introductory messages that I receive tend to offer a wide gamut of uniqueness, individuality and interest that simply cannot be boilerplated.

Brum - ish

Something that shows a spark of personality, something to reply to and photos of both if not on the profile (doesn’t have to be face!).

For me there is no perfect message. I will look at the profile before I even open a message if it doesn't pique my interest then it's highly unlikely that the message will.

Mixed bag so far

1. Perfect message doesn’t exist

2. Face pics

3. Show personality

Someone who has read my profile and matches what I seek to start with rather than the "I know I'm not what you're looking for but" I tend to get.

Someone who can message and sound like a sane human being rather than someone who is expecting me to fall onto their dick because "they are what I am looking for" after all.

Something like this might get my attention:

"Hello. I saw you at {club} on Saturday, but didn't get a chance to talk. I've sent a Friend invitation, hoping that you'll recognise my face. Please call me on {number} so that we can arrange something. I'm single and live on my own, so you can call at any time."

They'd express their REAL intentions and address what it is they are after and why they sent a message. It would be respectful just as I'd hope they'd be when it is real and non virtual. I love confidence and character.

A nice, friendly, opening message along the lines of

"Hi, we're X and Y, we've seen your profile and like the look of you guys! We're into A B C. Based in D.If you like the look of us would love to chat some more, see where it leads?"

Being grammatically correct is always a bonus, hate text speak or "hey wot u up 2" type messages.
