That's like asking someone who was mugged why they were carrying cash. Blame the victim.

Am I wrong in thinking that it is actually an offence to deliberately spray water over pedestrians like that?

Can you REALLY imagine the police trying to prove in court that a motorist deliberately soaked a pedestrian?......Offence or not I couldn't see it ever being taken further by the Crown.

I'm sure I read somewhere that someone had been fined for it. As I suggested, I may be wrong. Just wondered if anyone else knew.

Maybe an on the spot fine by a police officer if they were following an offending motorist.....

Pretty sure I saw a clip of a couple splash a guy and record it on tv and they got into trouble.

"ask me this

I think you mean answer me this. Anyway it might have been the safest place to cross. If it was a pedestrian crossing then I'll cross there, puddle or no puddle. Id rather risk getting wet than getting run over

That nearly happened to me the other week! Picture the scene, i'm standing at traffic lights, so is an old woman with a bag of shopping in each hand! A bus is coming, a feck of big puddle in front of us and you just KNOW whats going to happen!

So, i did the only sensible thing in that situation, i slowly inched behind the woman and BOOM, the poor gal was utterly drenched.
