All over

We all seem to have stopped talking about it but they are just horrendous, aren't they?. Almost every month my DD goes up. The gas bill is just incredible even though only the ch is gas and all other appliances electric. No wonder so many people are struggling still but it all seems to have gone quite. Suffering in silence I suppose. Not sure about you but my monthly bill is nearly three times what it was only just 2 or 3 years ago even though I try to be careful.

I somehow ended up £600 in credit with the gas so I kept it in there so that’s not too bad. Electric is at least £250 a month though 😩😩😩

Mines prepay meter we go through just over £10 a week 2 people in 1 bed flat that amount used to last 2 weeks

Heating goes faster if we keep turning it off so we have been turning it down at bed time and have noticed we not using as much gas

It is when you're on low wage and Edinburgh is expensive to shop in

I understand, that's why I said on my first post I don't know how people manage. It seems that has been accepted as inevitable. Not good, is it?

£70/month electric

That’s it

I have a wood burner with a back boiler which is amazing. Luckily I took some trees down and have enough wood for about 3 years

We tend to pay the same amount summer and winter to ward off the winter shock.

We do have a couple of rooms that we only heat when we're using them though

We do this too. Also at least twice a year I request reimbursement of £400 as my account is in credit.

And it's only going to get worse thanks to the decline of Great Britain and the short sightedness of each government over the last 40+ plus years.

Don't talk about this?

Talk about the dingies, or the gays, or the Muslims, or trans people or something, that's what we are supposed to argue about mate.

We aren't supposed to talk about the Victorian levels of inequality, caused by things like raising energy costs etc.

Immigration mate, that's what we should be arguing about.

Why not look around and fix your tariff ? You pay the same throughout the year so there's no surprise.. it rolls into the next where you'll likely be in credit as over time, prices are reduced.

To say .. had a relative hit with over £4k up from £900 a ago on a 1 bed flat. Their hot water tank was changed to an on demand system and it's reducing the bill well. The bill was challenged and got money back but there's no constant heating of water, just heating what is needed.

Not the best we have to hold off on doing washing and wrap up at times just to make the power last longer

I turn everything off at the wall even microwave, cooker, tv etc so nothing is drawing unless being used. Luckily I live alone and turn lights off unless needed and just have heating on low most of the time and get warm under blankets and duvet. Average bill per month for oil, elec, water combined is about 100, approx 80 in lighter months and 120 in darker months.
