Is that not a thing? | |||

"I don't have it on at all.. I've got far better things to spend my money on... being a child of the 70s..I grew up with no central heating anyway..🥶" 12degrees in my bedroom which Is quite warm for my house, we may dress like big girls we certainly ain’t (some of us were even in the S.A.S,)

"I put it on when I get home from work and turn it off a few hours before I go to bed I don’t put it on when I get up in morning as it makes going out to work in the cold feel ten times worse haha " That is good you put it on when you get home, yes, it can feel colder too

"Just keep thermostat at 17 degrees so trips in and out through the day so nice constant temp, heating doesn’t kick in at all if there’s a bit of sun out and tends to just come on in the late evening." Yep we control our heating by thermostat rather than timer. It's set to constant and we adjust the temperature according to the weather.

"The most economical way of using your heating through the winter months, is to have it set on constant at a temp of around 15-18 degrees, this way your house will never get too cold. It's a myth that you should have your heating on full blast for a couple of hours in the morning and in the evening, as during the time your heating is off, the house just loses all that heat and then when your heating comes on, it takes longer to get the house up to temperature hence it cost alot more. Having it on constant, it will kick in as and when the temp drops but won't stay on for very long as it's just topping up, hence its a lot more economical. " I agree with this and I have the readings that proves it’s more economical to have it on all the time than hitting water from cold twice a day. But 15 to 18° is way too hot for me.

" Unless your house (like mine) is over 100 years old, and so thermally inefficient that it would leave the heating running constantly just to try and maintain that 18 degrees.

"I’m out and about at odd hours so I have a clever little gadget that senses when I’m 2 miles from home and when I’m active in the house and asks if I want to turn the heating on. We live in an age of wonders! Otherwise off when I’m asleep and very random. " What is this magic gadget please?

"I found mine is cheaper & house warner to just have it on all the time but set low. I set it to about 12 or 13 degrees most of the time and if I’m cold in the evenings, I push it up to 14 but back around 12 before bed. Definitely would not want it heating to more than 12° overnight. I also balanced the system so 75% of the heat is downstairs and rises" That is good you have it on all the time on low too

"I only have the heating on over night when it's really cold, and it's set at 16c. I work from home, so the heating is on in the mornings between 7-9 and then back on at 4.30 - 9. Occasionally i put it back on during the day. Nothing worst than being cold while sat at a desk for hours. " Hi longleggedblond, that is good you only have it on when it is really cold, yes, it is nice to have it warm when working from home too

"Recently had it in all the time quite often. The norm is 5 30 - 8.30 and 6.00 to 10.30 in eve. As currently often at home during day though it is on mostvof the time as though I don't like it too hot, I am not fond if being cold either. In other words, as and when needed " That is good it is on most of the time too
