What would you do...fab scammers

So I made a schoolboy error of responding to a status update of a local couple asking for a membership code so they could upload some videos.

I messaged saying happy to pay if they add me as a friend so I can see them and they said sounds good to them.

Needless to say, I sent them the code, they've uploaded private videos and then been completely radio silent ever since with no friend invite acceptance.

Quite happy to wash my face of the fiver, but it's the scam behaviour that's really annoying!

What would you do? I've left it a week and a half now to give them a chance, but I'm inclined to report their profile.

Probably not admit to it on here.

I don’t think reporting it will do anything. I think you just have to accept you’ve been rather gullible.

You can report the profile but in all honesty you're only doing it because you didn't get something out of the arrangement for yourself.

Learn the lesson and in future report such profiles and don't fall for the false promises. Think with your head and not your loins.

This has to be one of the most ill-thought out things someone has admitted to this year on Fab.

Sniffing knickers and wearing them inside out the next day wasn't your greatest remark, Místy.

Had an invite for a social which was first mentioned from a single male profiles message

Later in the day a couple contacted us talking about the social, we was remotely interested but nothing definite as it was local

Anyway then comes the mention of a £5 apparently for prizes

The conversation came to a holt immediately!

Genuine or not it’s a social on offer not a fucking game show

Red flag 🚩

Can I cut out the middle man and just ask for a fiver? I’m skint, and don’t want a supported pass

At least you’ve only lost a fiver in learning your lesson.

I’d call that a big win.

Yeah, you're not getting your money back but Def report them. It's against site rules.

I don't know why people are acting as if you've admitted to something terrible though....you're not the first to be stung by a honey trap and you won't be the last. At least it's only a favour you've lost. Think with the big head first next time

Ask them to pay it forward by helping out that long lost relative who’s stuck in Ukraine and needs just £2,000 to get his passport released and buy a plane ticket.

Thanks Evie, I appreciate your reply! I have to admit I'm pretty shocked by some of the other responses, the issue was never losing a fiver, it's not going to bankrupt me!

And for those "shocked" by this horrific admission, I'm glad you've lived such perfect lives, I've really got to reflect on the life choices I've made...

Always report people asking for or offering money as its against site rules.
