Don't know if you all get the same but I've had 3 people this week ask for me to falsely verify them! Saying it helps them in the future haha urmmm

I do report and block them but makes you wonder who you can trust if all of their verifications are fake

We've never had anyone ask us, but we have often suspected some people on here have multiple fake veris (sometimes you just get that feeling something isn't right)

We have always wondered what the people giving the veri would get in return

Agree as some of those people have a lot of veris and from club meets and do look completely genuine? I've been offered money in the past and whilst a little extra in your pockets is always a bonus I just refuse to do it

One of the first messages we received on here was from a guy offering a fake verification to help us get started. We declined, reported and blocked.

Another reason I absolutely dislike the verification system on here.

I haven’t been asked for false verification, yet but then I don’t think anyone would want to have a veri from me anyway.

I think I can spot them easily. You shouldn’t take veris too seriously, people often gets veris at socials from people they barely know, and they turn out to complete assholes !

I had someone insisting they'd met me and asking me to verify them.

Theyd obviously studied my profile but I knew we'd never met.

They were quite persistent and slightly aggressive, they also claimed to be someone they obviously weren't.

Theyre now on my block list x

I don’t think it is a common thing but I am pretty sure it happens because some time a set of veris just look _wrong_. Just block and move on if you have concerns.

I think they're pretty easy to spot. I've been asked and few times and I've been verified without even talking to an individual just to get my attention I guess?

Fake veris are "wank fodder" - or a least that's what I've been told by someone who gets them from women. Some people won't get asked so much, those that go to clubs and who are heavily involved in the "scene" bc they're more likely to repot and block.

I can't take them that seriously really.

Should be easy to spot a trend in the giving and receiving of fake veri’s

We take a look at all the veri’s to get an idea. Although we meet in clubs so quickly take people by face value. If there was a red flag in veri’s we wouldn’t arrange to meet anyway

Stay frosty

I see status's on my updates all the time asking for people to contact from gg events and gangbangs so to verify. Realistically if they met in any kind of numbers, anyone (guy) could sneak a mail, say they had a great time and get a veri from someone they've never met.

I’ve had people ask me for verifications for a meet we had months ago when they had a previous profile.

The daft thing is they use a different username and I can’t remember who I had sex with at some club back in July??

I've had a few people ask for verifications on the grounds that I met them in a club. However, if I can't remember them and they are vague on the specifics, then it doesn't happen

Belfast

I've been here 9 years and never once been asked to provide a verification for anyone I haven't met.

Even people I have met but who have left and returned have never asked me to reverify them and despite this being my fourth profile I've never asked anyone I met previously to verify me a second time.

I have been contacted though by some unbelievably rude and ignorant people who have twice as many verifications as I do and I often wonder how many of those are made up because if they approach everyone the way they did me I would be amazed if anyone agreed to meet them.

Personally we've never been asked to give a false verification though we do have the unverified filter on. In local updates people sometimes ask for verifications and do occasionally get them. When they get the false veris the floodgates must open

How would this work?

As I understand it you can only be verified by an account that is itself verified, neither of the accounts in your scenario are verified.

If the existing account is verified, then what would be the point of creating a new account.

One thing I’ve learned is not to trust verifications on here. Half are fake. A quarter are people who have attended events and basically just getting a “certificate of attendance”.

Yes I get that as a use of a fake account, but I was referring to the creating of an account for the purposes of fake verification, as that is the topic of the thread, but yes you are correct those are reasons, amongst others, why people do it

This is why I think the verification system is flawed. There’s two in my local area who I suspect are gaming the system by creating fake profiles and writing verifications for themselves.

How could it be changed? Take a group photo might work? Lol I don't know how you can stop it really

I also think re fake photos the site should do a reverse image search to check. I'm not into football at all but a guy sent a photo the other day, it was suspect I reversed search and boom was a professional footballer haha who I very much doubt would struggle to meet

Errrm, you know what? I actually don’t know how to stop it either! I mean, short of asking people for mobile numbers that are tied to your account, no one is going to be crazy enough to buy 5 SIM cards as burners just to make a few accounts for verifications (but never say never in this place).

With fake photos, yes 100% it erodes trust when people fake it badly, but wow, someone tried it on with you using a professional footballers photo? That’s just crazy behaviour from them. 😳
