The UK has it's fair share of issues, but no different than any other country. I follow global news and spend a lot of time in Europe. They have the same concerns as we do in the UK, raising costs of living, inapt politicians, rising crime and imagination issues. At the same time, just like us, they have outstanding natural beauty, caring and friendly citizens.

You're less likely to be murdered here than in most other places.

We rank just 147th out of 196 countries for homicides per 100k population.

We have a decent standard of living, some semblance of democracy, and we’re as free as almost any other western nation. If I could live anywhere would it be here? No. But it’s better than a lot of places, for sure

Our sense of humour and ability to queue in a semi organised manner.

We don’t make a big deal out of minor stuff, we just get on with things.

Friendliness and an eagerness to actually help anyone in need.

No matter wherever in the country you are, a day out at the seaside or to the countryside isn’t a long journey.

Four actual seasons in a year.

Our history from the arts to sports to endeavours.

And for me, the majority of people in the UK are open to diversity and will welcome a stranger or put themselves out to help if someone is struggling.

(Admittedly I do live in the North so friendliness is part of our DNA)

For such a small place we’re not a bad place to live

I'm guessing you're not being serious?

Why would anyone try to stop you, and how could they???

But on the other hand, it's more than a bit out of date and the only modern relevance is in the final verse where the song seems to celebrate the arrival of immigrants to the UK.

"The Muses, with freedom found,

Shall to thy happy coasts repair."

Not what you were expecting???

UK is beautiful during the summer, people are happy, women in summer dresses showing flesh.

Yeah rest of the year from November to March especially it's friggin crap. We put up with November to march in order to get to the summer. If one day we don't get our summers, there'll be a revolution.
