With the cost of living getting higher am tempted to rent out the spare room

Anyone with any experience totally non swing

Any advice greatly appreciated

Suppose as long as it's not sub letting, it should be fairly straightforward. Make sure you do proper background checks on potential house sharers if you plan on letting it out yourself.

I rent out properties. Do it through an letting agent. Then if there's a problem you will have back up

We have a house we only use on a weekend and thought about taking in a lodger. They would have to be swingers as we often have meets there and don’t want to have to worry about the state of our dress. Didn’t know how to go about it so dropped the idea

We are the owners and live there

So would be sharing the house , they would have there own bathroom

Do whatever background checks you can, as once you sign the contract getting them out if they are not compatible is going to be difficult.

I’m doing a couple of rooms in the uk next year

I’ll use Airbnb & booking dot com I don’t want anyone permanent

I also signed up with a few international student orgs they pay really well

👍 absolutely -agreed but you “Never plan to fail - Only fail to plan “

Check as suggested it’s vital - but if something sadly were to go wrong, it could be disastrous .

Sorry - sounds v negative, when sometimes it’s a financial life line. OP i have 100% empathy … been there
