How do you feel about sharing your food?

Out for a curry and people eating your food?

People nicking ya chips?

Ordering something and someone saying "I’ve not had that before, I’ll just try yours!!"

Sure fire way to receive a fork in the back of your hand is if you take something off my plate!!

I appreciate there are certain cuisines were sharing is necessary and I have absolutely no problem with that.

One of the wife's lovers took us both out to a very nice restaurant earlier this week, and the Missus and I were trying bits off of each other's plates as Mr Lover stared with puzzlement.

The sirloin was so nice I just had to let her sample it, and I knew that she'd insist on giving the onion rings the once-over.

Somewhere In The Ether…

If someone asks, I will happily (albeit begrudgingly!) share.

If on the other hand they just reach across and take from my plate….well that’s just poor etiquette in my book! 😡

I like sharing the things I enjoy with people I care about. I want them to enjoy the things too and will usually offer long before they ask.

Casual acquaintances trying to steal off my plate will get a fork to the hand though 💜

A Meze or Tapas, or a sharing platter…fine….

Order something you like and ask to try mine (because you’ve never had it)….no

Not having dessert and expecting some of mine…..no

Same as people that “didn’t smoke” but were always keen to nick a cigarette from me on night out. Or people that brought supermarket stubbies to the family barbecue and then dive in to the craft beer I brought. You want it you order it or provide your own!

Social smokers can go right in the bin.

Brought some cigarettes out but ran out and nowhere convenient to resolve it? Sure, you can tap one. Know full well you're going out and will want cigarettes but just expect the smokers to bail you out all night? Get fucked 💜

Good to share. Look into the eyes and pass it across the table. If they lick their lips you know they enjoyed it

I don’t mind sharing food.

However, do not touch my drink… even if I’ve snogged your face off 5 minutes prior, I don’t want your saliva on my glass/in my drink 😬🙈

See that right there is a step too far for me.

Happy to share meals, if I get chips I'm happy for you to nick as many as you want, go ahead, knock yourself out.

Not the coffee though. I'll go and buy you your very own coffee, but you're not on if you want to drink mine.

I love to share, as long as the other person shares too. Love to pick and try different things. If you just want to sample and are not willing to share any of yours then I will guard my plate and consider you a selfish greedy twunt

If I feel like it's so good and "you should try some" I will offer, but if you want some of my food, gtfo of here. Get your own.

If I offered to get some, asked and you said no. I then get said food but you suddenly want some... There is the door.

I'm easy ,I've bought a takeaway for myself and the ex wife and my kids got home early, I gave it all to the kids and her. Another time I decided on a nice starter whilst my then partner opted for a safe option. Once it was brought to the table she said she wished she had ordered that, I took a bite and then gave her the rest.

Someone even tried to social vape the other day, they asked if they could have some of mine.

No sorry …. I didn’t bring a spare mouth piece and you are not sticking yours round this!

I believe there is a certain etiquette regarding crisp sharing. If you’re in the pub and you open the crisps packets fully as if on a plate then you’re offering to share. If on the other hand you just open the top of the packet you’re suggesting that they are for solo consumption.

There are very very rare circumstances where I will share my food for example if we are at work and you have genuine reason for not having any bait I will half mine with you.

But otherwise no, assuming we are in a situation where you had the opportunity to order whatever you like there is never any excuse to want anything off my plate, pre agreeing to share an item prior to ordering is fine. Also in any group eating situation all leftovers are automatically mine haha
