I think its just a natural reaction to close your eyes when you kiss although a guy I used to see often before used to really like us both having our eyes opened when we kissed, it was weird at first but something quite oddly nice about it too lol

I like both,

while closed does give more focus to the other sensations, the extra eye contact can add far more when you can read your partners intentions and pleasure in their eyes.

I hate to tell you this but.... it actually increases nothing. Your senses have a range of ability and that is it.... they don't change just because you shut your eyes.
