Firstly what my idea of submission looks like will be different to someone else’s. Hell mine will be different depending on partner and whether I or they are submitting.

In its most basic form it’s the surrendering of control and power to a dominant figure.

How much control, how much power and the acts performed will depend on each individuals limits, boundaries and the type of trust and bond they with each other.

The things I’ll explore with someone I know well and trust is very different from someone I don’t know well or don’t see frequently.

I think as someone said earlier, what one person deems submission might be different to what the next person deems submission. I think it's quite a personal and complex thing, but is essentially about power and control and doesn't need to involve S&M (I prefer a pleasure Dom personally as I am not much of a masochist)

In the sex / adult interaction context... Isn't it different for everyone and each different situational relationship? Feelings can be very different to doings. To me it's not all about giving up control, it's just not how I view it. I always some aspect of control even if I relent some control. In my opinion you have control of you have consented and have a way of stopping what is happening.
