And do you feel like you fit there? I’m an X and feel so.

PS I only included alpha and beta for completeness, obviously there are no Fabbers of that age.

Generation Beta (Born between 2025 and 2039)

Generation Alpha (2010 to 2024)

Generation Z (1995 to 2009)

Millennials or Generation Y (1980 to 1995)

Generation X (1966 to 1980)

Not understanding kids is passed on from generation to generation… you’d think by now Mother Nature would have cracked it by now

But I defo down understand the “what’s in it for me “ generation…. Not sure sure if it culture or what but I was raised to earn it not demand it .. I can’t stand the kids who replace the want with can o want I earn it… rant over ..

I think the slight criticism that may be fair, is that during all that hedonistic haze, we may have ever just slightly dropped the ball on a few minor things like the environment, NHS, education, water, energy, employment rights, pensions and well just the economy generally that kind of thing.

It was fun though. I can't say I'd swap it for Tik Tok and CBD gummy bears.

Gen X !

The generation that had to get off their arse to switch the tv over...our family tv was b+w ..it had the tiniest screen ...and there were only three channels!!

Decimalisation occured and we joined Europe!

The Internet hadn't been created and you needed 2p coins for the phone box

Elvis was swivelling his pelvis!

We were dirt poor - my father was an alcoholic and we moved every few months. The bailiffs were often at the door. I've worked hard to never be in that situation again

I do have fond memories of the telly tho..we weren't allowed to watch ITV, because that was too corrupting

And when channel 4 was released, I wasn't allowed to watch it until I left home at 18

"And do you feel like you fit there? I’m an X and feel so.

PS I only included alpha and beta for completeness, obviously there are no Fabbers of that age.

Generation Beta (Born between 2025 and 2039)

Generation Alpha (2010 to 2024)

Generation Z (1995 to 2009)

Millennials or Generation Y (1980 to 1995)

Generation X (1966 to 1980)

"

I’m a millennial and I honestly don’t think I fit in with a better bunch of people c

My Dad used to rent a telly from Radio Rentals and I remember going in to pay the premiums!

the land of saints & sinners

OP you do know that ‘Boomer’ and ‘Gen Z’ seem like handy ways of sorting people, but they are more cultural creations than natural phenomena.

There is little credible scientific evidence to back up the idea of generations and generational differences, and the (mis)application of these ideas has the potential to detrimentally affect people regardless of their age.

Generationalism can be viewed as a kind of socially sanctioned ageism that has the potential to negatively affect people, young and old.

It’s also creates a market for generational ideas as there are now lots of self-help books available for the victims of generational warfare. We would be well served to quit leaning on simplistic generational concepts to make sense of a complicated social world.

Alternatively we could all just turn the volume up and sing along to Generation X

“ Jailhouse Rocker roots

training down in Memphis

Liverpool Johnny rocks out

round Paul's place

Seconds away as the rhythm comes down

King faces King in the ring for the crown

King rocker,

king rocker

rock, rock, rock

King Kong,

King Kong” ………

Like when the DWP decides to perform a State Pension age review?

Also Gen X.

Remember having to physically open a car window rather than pressing a button. Playing outside till the street lights came on and having a bike... oh the freedom. You could ride anywhere and nobody knew where you were.

Finding out there was a flasher in the area and instead of running and hiding, locking the doors, going to try and find them to take the mickey out of them !

Generationalism much like horoscopes is meaningless nonsense that has no credible evidence to back it up.

Great if you like labelling people but it does a disservice to everyone both to the labelled and the labeller.
