I understand that most women get quite a lot of messages but what is frustrating for us guys is the lack of response.

It would be so much better if they just delete the message as that in itself is a response and I and lots of other males would be happy with that I'm sure..

A much easier solution is if you delete the message at your end immediately after sending and then you don't have to worry about what happens at the other end because you won't be able to check if it has been read or not.

Yeah, this does help a lot. Especially if you find you're checking too often. I normally give it a few days, then delete. Out of sight, out of mind.

There's no winning here.

Just delete it from your sent messages as soon as it's sent. This doesn't delete it from their inbox. And if you go to message them again the site pops up to tell you that you've already messaged them with no response so you know not to.

Assume all messages are lost to the ether unless you get a positive response 💜

It's a shame this happens so often. Enough for it to be a known thing anyhow. I've had a few nos, just thanked them for replying and went about my day.

Baffles me why there is a need to be a total arse about everything these days. 😂

I currently have 884 unread messages because just being active on the forums or being online leads to a deluge, and I'm not spending hours going through all of them to delete or reply "no thanks", not do I have the mental capacity.

I just want to chat shit on the forum when I'm bored, people think just because you're online you're available/want to chat and that's not always the case.

Yep. 💯

Sending a message is a choice.

As is reading it, replying to it, not reading it or deleting it.

You can only influence one thing when you send a message. Pushing the send button. After that it's out of your hands and not worth worrying about.

There's plenty of people who complain about messages not getting read.

The same number complaining when they get deleted.

And plenty complaining that no reply is received.

Seems people can't win. 🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

Managing expectations is the thing right? So manage your own, if you got a letter and you didn't want to respond you wouldn't you'd bin it without sparing it a thought.

It might take alot of effort to draft a message here sometimes but that input does not result in a guaranteed response expectation. Delete when you've sent and forget about it

When you get a reply it's a happy bit of suprise
