I've gone into meets that started out as a social, maybe over drinks and a chat that eventually led to more. But from the messages beforehand, there was always an indication that that's where it could potentially go so nothing spontaneous after being set on it only being a social beforehand.

Social which is social only with no potential to take things further, this is where we have only enough time for a social and are meeting in a public place.

Social with potential to play, this is usually when someone is hosting or we have a place near the social venue and we have more time on hands.

Most of the latter socials ends up going further same day.
