Recently went to watch Sonic 3 and was shocked at the price of pop corn £7.50 same price for the nachos no wonder people were taking their own food and drinks in their back pack.

Who else takes their own food to the cinema?

Always take my own snacks, prices are scandalous. I sometimes buy a drink as I like the slushies but othertimes I will just bring a bottle of water

The food is seemingly how they make their money as the prices for such, invariably grossly exceed the actual ticket prices.

I used to think you weren't allowed to take your own snacks, because that's what everyone used to say. But there is no rule in any cinema that actually says this. Bring your own. 😄

Unfortunately, this is the pricing model for cinemas. Most of the time they show a film, they actually lose money as the cost of the tickets does not meet the price they pay the studios. They therefore have to make their money on snacks and drinks. Most of them make over 3,000% profit in the popcorn they sell!

I thought there was a rule that said you can’t bring your own food. To save some money I did take my own can of Tango.

Definitely next time will take my own snacks

I got a pack of Minstrels which were 3.99 same pack in shops is 2.75 or less can’t remember the pack size

The popcorn isn’t even fresh or made at the cinema I seen a guy kept bringing large bags which looked like they had been vacuum sealed.

My friends daughter used to work for Odeon, they tend not to like it if you take hot food in to the cinema that's bought elsewhere.

This is exactly why I haven't been the cinema in years. Only used to go when it was Orange Wednesdays.

Nope, there has never been a rule against taking your own film snacks. It's just one of those urban myths. 😊

They do frown upon cooked and smelly or messy foods being taken in though, such as BBQ chicken or something like that.
