afternoon tea. Did you enjoy? Where was it (if you can say). What was on it? Your favourite part? Love afternoon tea. Not had one for a while. Will treat myself to one at weekend or next week.

Oh i love and afternoon tea as well, MB.

Not had one either for a while.

The last one I had was at The Ivy. It was very nice.

The best one was a small family run tea shop in Polperro. Lots of different finger sandwiches and savoury pastries followed by a good selection of cakes and the famous cornish clotted cream (local farm rather than awful rodda's) and then ice cream from a local dairy.

Ooh I think the last one I had was at Speech house hotel in the Forest of Dean. I’ll be honest and say that the afternoon tea down the road at the Tudor farmhouse is much nicer

That sounds like my kind of thing. I organised one a little while back where I was could choose what to have and that was amazing.

The last one was in November. A delivery from a notable hotel, with all the bells and whistles and the pomp and ceremony, for a family member who was unwell. It was a rare treat.

Before that, August, in a small hotel near Bond Street, with 8 other forum dwellers. There are plans afoot for a next one! 🫖

Wherever I lay my hat

Last April. Took my three grown up kids to the Athanaeum hotel as three of us are vegan so decent alternatives are limited. They did a spectacular tea.

Ham and mustard

Roast beef and Horseradish

mini pork pies with cranberry topping

Champagne toast and then Earl Grey, darjeeling and milk oolong

I have not been to one for ages but the last time was at The Ritz in London for my friends special birthday. Expensive but really nice … I liked that you could have extra sandwiches.

Nothing beats a good cup of afternoon tea. Not from bags. A proper cup of tea. Leaves in a tea pot brewing. Cup and saucer, and a milk pot in the shape of a cow. I try to make time for one on a Sunday afternoon. Last one was Sunday before last.

I like savoury ones

Beef sarnies, ham sarnies, egg mayo sarnies

Cheese, pickles, crudities, sausage rolls, pork pie, maybe a cheese scone

One cake is enough, maybe a slice of Victoria sponge or an eclair
