Does anyone else get driven mad by printers, not connecting, not printing?. Is it only me?

Printer have artificial intelligence, they know when you really need to print something, when it's vital to print it now and decide to say paper jam, or worse just pop in in a queue and leave it jamming it

I've been using the Epson eco tank Et 4550 for my day to day printing and photos. It's not the most expensive, it's never let me down. What I also like about it is the nozzles don't seem to dry out like a lot of printers if you don't print for some time. My canon prograph was abysmal for this. And the Epson ink is reportedly the longest lasting ( fades the least) when used on photo paper.

Printers are the cats of the tech world. They're arseholes.

Re the cartridge cost? Just go for an HP one and get the ink subscription. Way cheaper.

Yes, Brother Lasers are excellent, I can’t remember how many awful inkjets I got through. Even works with cheapo toner cartridges. I’ve had this one for 6 years now.

I've had my printer since 2010 and compatible toner cartridges work fine and much cheaper than the official ones.

Previously I had a Samsung and you couldn't use a compatible cartridge

Yep. Does my head in. I posted on another thread about how good I was in a crisis, and how calm I can be. I also said it was the small things got me worked up. Well, printers are on of those small things.

I have a HP printer and subscribe to the ink replacement programme. Works out much cheaper for me as I don’t need to print much stuff so go for the cheapest one at about £1.60pm. The printer was about £60 but was reduced in the sale and I’ve had it about 3-4 years now.

i thought laser printers were best , use powder instead of ink which is cheaper and lasts forever

I do too sometimes but find it easy enough to connect again through my phone. You might be best contacting customer services, they are pretty good at sorting problems.

ive been a heavy user of printers so swapped up to the ciss system combined with epson printers its been great to use that system.

my printers print cd/dvds as well as you cant buy them anymore

and yes ive printed cd/dvd labels before.

it all depends on the cost of the printer in the first place.

yes you can buy an expensive lazer printer or powder ink system but you will also pay alot more for that printer than you would via an ink system

but the choice is yours on which system you buy

I used to when I used Epson and Lexmark, but I've had two Canon printers since then and they've both been fine - one of them I had for twelve years and I only got rid of it because I didn't need the built-in fax!
