This is when people start jumping on the bandwagon and slating him ...

I don't like the man I think hes made his money out of selling people up the river and being a manipulative piece of work !!!!

Saying that just because hes a first class tosser doesn't mean we as the public can judge him before the courts do...

To be honest he is the very best at doing what he does. Privately he does an awful lot for charity.

I remember him saying after the George Michael scandal ( the loos etc ) that he lacked morals because he was gay !!!

That man doesn't sit well with me at all whether he does lots for charity or not

all these celebs being charged with various sexual offences over several yrs i just cant help thinking the police are making one hell of a giant fuck up and the lawyers and accused will have a field day when the cases against the accused start to fall apart.for the record i am not a fan of max clifford and many of the other accused

Max Clifford more than anyone knows where the bodies are buried, he has both promoted and quashed more stories about both celebrities and members of the general public than anyone. What little I do know about him makes this story a little hard for me to believe. The courts obviously will decide

the system is mad in my opinion ..you can go to the police and accuse a man of rape and you will be offered anonymity but his name will be published .. why ??? he's not been found guilty ??

why can't both parties have anonymity until a verdict has been reached ??

Someone at work classed this in a perfect way, and she is at least 10 years younger than me....

They are looking at things from the 1970's in a 2013 legislation and political correctness, it just doesn't add up!

I'm not saying it was right, but it was a completely different world back then, and I do think things are being taken out of proportion with arms and legs added on!

regardless of when i would imagine that anyone who has been being sexually abused, indecently assaulted or worse will see things from a different perspective..

its not that long ago that men in this country could slap the old lady about and correct me but was rape in marriage largely ignored..

as a father i am glad that we have moved on, not there yet but if anyone who has lived with the trauma of abuse has for whatever reason now decided to make a stand then thats ok with me tbh..

just a thought..

Your example is NOT what I was on about, so I do completely agree with you!

But back in the day, and yes I have been there, have women not been in a position where they have been leered over and man handled in what ever way, but, and I know it is a big but, we were able to handle ourselves, and quite politely say 'fuck off' I know I have from the age of 16 onwards!

I just think this has become a witch hunt, under different rules, with different agenda's! As someone else has said, women can remain anon but the men are exposed without any guilt being proved and are therefore being put under the spotlight and lives ruined, should thing not be about equality?

I think too many people may be jumping on a bandwagon....and also think it isn't right that people should be named if the "victim" isn't.

I would also like to say that at that age I wore make up ( not allowed it by my parents but used to put it on once I had left the house ) and I looked a lot older than my age and flirted with older men as they were more exciting....I was too much of a chicken to do anymore than flirt, but the point is I was taken for around 17 or 18 years of age.

Absolutely agree, young girls screamed at pop stars, dressed much older, stuffed bras with anything to make them look older, just to get noticed.

Only thing is,,,,,, no one carried identification or proof of age then, everything was decided by someone looking at you and 'judging' your age...... getting served in a bar was exactly the same, the individual barperson decided if you were old enough.

It was a different world , with different values and morals.

This is my thinking too, I can't help wondering why this is all happening now, what happened to the last 30 years?? These are serious, serious allegations that can ruin people's lives, famous or not no-one deserves trial by media until proven beyond reasonable doubt they are guilty.

He isn't someone I warm to but its for the courts to read the evidence and make judgement not me. I would like to see the courts though address more people making claims which ultimately are more about twisting truths to extract financial gain. Not that that's the case here well not yet it isn't.

I would all tread carefully here .. a friend of ours was arrested for rape .. it was under the most ludicrous circumstances .. anyway he was named before it came to court and she was offered anonymity .. the bottom line was he was acquitted but was always known as 'the man who got off with rape' and subsequently committed suicide

Its not the first time that something like that has happened it goes to show the press and media have a lot to answer for along with the courts for disclosing names. Maybe anonymity for all and a prompt trial would be better all round.

It's beyond belief that they name people before any trial. I thought it was against the law? The fact that they are naming all these celebs that are getting arrested ... it's just wrong. Whether they are celebrities or not, they are still people and deserve anonymity. Although as in your comment, I guess no-one is 'safe' from being named.

Hence my comments above- it's like a witch hunt trial. Declared guilty before any trial.

People who truly believe in the justice system must surely allow it to do its work before they cast judgement on a man who has the right to defend against these accusations…

If he’s found guilty he deserves public condemnation and whatever punishment befits the crime….

But if he’s found innocent the best he can ever hope for is the hollow victory of clearing his name…..

Can anyone help me with this ? The law says innocent until proven guilty and it's upto the prosecution to prove his guilt not upto him to prove he is innocent. Surely with all the time that has elapsed there will be no evidence just their word against his and there will always be reasonable doubt so isn't this case just a waste of money ? If he was guilty he should of course be shot but this should have been reported along time ago.

Am i wrong ??

All the people involved have been named once charged as is the norm.

With Stuart Hall, he was charged as the patterns of abuse with each victim was very similar.

Difficult one this - the issues relate to the 1960's - im just reading Max's book at the moment.

He talks in the book about the screaming girls waiting for a pop act he was looking after - The Beatles - now - lets be honest we all know "pop" stars and their roadies pick up girls who hang around stage doors/hotel entrances - and I guess if just one of those girls was underage - hes in the strictest terms - guilty.

Is there a possibility that he can be guilty but not intentionally?
