"I'm reading Lord of The Silver Bow by David Gemmell. I love all things Iliad so it's hard to fault it. But my favourite character from the Iliad who doesn't die in the Iliad dies in this book. I'm also reading the Wheel of Time series, and The Problems of Philosophy (Bertrand Russell) but they've taken a back seat to Gemmell. " I finally finished Wheel Of Time recently. Forgotten most of the beginning now so (appropriately enough) I might just start all over again. I'm hovering around a few books and nothing is really taking. Mostly The Secret Agent by Joseph Conrad, and a re-read of The Fellowship Of The Ring.

"The Dubliners by James Joyce. I put it down a while ago and I'm struggling to find motivation to pick it back up. Not that it's bad because far from it it is very good. Just struggling to find motivation to read." Enjoy, the narrative is easier than most of his novels but still not necessarily a relaxed easy going read. My attention span is too short for such novels nowadays ![]()

"As ever, I'm late to the party but I've just started reading the Song of Ice and Fire novels. I like the details of the first book and the plot is great, but some of the characters are incredibly annoying and feel a bit one-dimensional. Plenty of room for character development yet though!" I loved the books but there are certain characters where I skim read their chapters to get to next ones 😂

"Winter in Madrid by CJ Sansom xx I do prefer his Shardlake series , but this is great too x " Do the Shardlake series need to be read in order? I wanted to start the series but my local library doesn't have the first two. Recently read his Dominion book which was recommended to me as I enjoy Robert Harris

So he's working on literally anything else 😂

"Butter - Asako Yuzuki Dislike? Absolutely nothing. It's disturbingly glorious and I know I'll think about it once finished. " Oh god, it's hard to describe how much I loved that book. It haunted me long after I finished it, but everyone I recommended it to just found it weird.
