my hair is falling out and Im a 41 year old woman .. im not the most feminine woman in the world .. more comfortable in cycling gear or running gear and very rarely wear make up or do my hair .. stockings and short skirts are a once a year event .. you get the drift ..lol

so Ive been advised to shave my hair off rather than have patches of baldness all over the place .. would you ??

No I think Id wear a Bandana, depends on how big the bald patches were.

I've known some super hot women with shaved heads. Granted some had done it for charity and one girl had the cancer but it can be a very sexy look x

First of all I dont think you are not feminine from what I can see. There are different ways of being feminine and they can all be attractive.

Secondly try and find out what might help, whether it is a vitamin deficiency or a hormonal imbalance (maybe a touch too much testosterone, especially if you are a saporty kind of woman)

Finally, if it helps have it short and cut in feminine cute way before shaving it all off I d say. Also if you are really worried you could experiment with a wig?

Above all - try not to worry because it is not hair that makes a woman sexy.

bearing in mind I have been mistaken for a bloke - I might seriously consider it ......... it might improve my looks ........

seriously I can think of a few women who have shaved their heads and I think it does suit people

That's a difficult one. I guess the same predicament cancer suffers go through.

I guess it depends how big and noticeable the bald patches were.

Either way I imagine I'd resort to wearing a wig.

As pretty as she is, I'm afraid I don't think gail porter looks good bald..and yes I know she can't help it.

bad timing .. its my sisters wedding in a few weeks so would like to be able to sport the dress etc that my parents and family like me to wear and don't think a bald head will be flavour of the month in the wedding pics

Your avatar pic looks very feminine! Nothing wrong with lycra, especially I'd there is a toned an sweaty lady inside.

There's a lady on here with her head shaved and she looks very sexy. I'd say shave and bandana and enjoy the attention.

You could talk to her perhaps and explain your dilemma, that you want to make sure she has a gerat day and not deflect from the attention she is getting? She might not be worried about it perhaps - either way I d suggest having a chat with her before you make a decision as that seems to be part of your consideration.

Speak to her and express your fears and worries.

She will understand.

It doesn't take anytbing away from her - she will want you to be relaxed and have a great day too.

Have you investigated the cause? Worrying about it causes stress and that may not be helping either.

I spose it depends where the hair is falling from is it alopecia is caused by several things so perhaps address what is upsettng you.. Have you had a shock? are you unwell

Hair loss is a symptom of underactive thyroid has this been checked.

I had alopecia when i was 21 two patches fortunately covered by my waist length hair.. it grew back over time . Cause a big fall out with Mum..

The second time i was 28 and I had a premmie baby 5 weeks early . I woke up the day after he was born with a patch the size of an orange gone from behind my ear . again it grew back as thick as before.

Gail porter shaves her head and she looks great so really it depends how severe it is and if you can cope. Get checked out blood tests etc to find out the causes .

try not to worry as this will make it worse.

Whilst I was having treatment last year I met a lovely lady who lost her hair because of chemo. She got a fabulous wig from one of the afro type shops in the town. It was actually very pretty . When / if you get a wig do go to a hairstylist that specialises in cutting wigs. people do wear them too low on the forehead and they need trimming to your face. Wigs usually have far too much hair in and need to be thinned and styled for you.
