Just seen on the news …. Such very sad news about a wonderful man.

Listened to him for decades, and loved Sounds of the 70s … Sundays just aren’t the same without him. He also kept us all company through COVID. - what a presenter - gutted.

Love and hugs to his beloved Tiggy.

That’s sad to hear, he’d not long retired from his show!

One of my favourite DJ’s to listen to, no matter what show he was presenting - he had such a lovely voice. Him and Sally Traffic on the BBC drive time shows back in the day were a joy.

RIP

Not unexpected, but still sad news, a true master of his craft.

Devastated to hear of Johnny's passing,

I had the good fortune to hear his first broadcast on Caroline way back in the 1960s and his last programme on Radio 2 only a few weeka ago.

He made a lot of listeners very happy and will be missed by a large following of dedicated people, of whom I am one.

Rest in Peace Johnny.

Wow, not heard any news today so didn’t know.

He will be missed by many.

He used to tell some cracking anecdotes about his time in the business as well as playing great tunes, the last broadcast he did you could hear the frailty in his voice, another legend gone.
