I see what you mean, and I don't see any reason to stick to the new year formula if you've got a plan you want to get started sooner

Because it's Monday and the start of the week? Seems logical to me.

I don't start the new year until I remember to write the date correctly, sometime around March

I think if there's something you want to do/start then why wait, if you put it off your likely to never do it.

I don’t really get the reasoning.

If you wanna ‘get something done’ or ‘kick start’ whatever……just get on with it. Fuck waiting about for some arbitrary date. You might not get to January and you’ll have missed out.
