"I've just had delivered "sustain me"by Barbara O'Neil. Before I start reading this book, it's got me thinking about or curious to know if anyone else is interested in or uses alternative remedies. I don't think using these are a bag of poo, as some potions has been around for centuries and been pasted down through the generations. " They've been passed down through the generations because until very recently most people had no access to anything else. They either couldn't afford it or it didn't exist. | |||

"Whilst I don’t wish to put alternative medicines in the hocus catagory, I can’t help feeling that a lot of them became less used/popular because more effective remedies became available, so it would be a bit of a step backwards to go back to them. I’m sure many modern treatments can trace their heritage back to some of these but let’s keep moving forward with an aim for improvement " Forward movement yes however people need to understand that some things don't need modern medicine and GPs need to stop pandering to some people on this. Antibiotics is a prime example. | |||

"I do believe though that many people could improve their health through diet. Just limiting the fast food and sugar laden stuff would do it. " These are my thoughts as well. Sunlight, exercise, don't over indulge daily, try to improve quality of sleep. | |||

Infections from what we would now class as relatively trivial wounds were regular killers less than a century ago. | |||
