Jumping on another post what have your highlights outside of fab been for 2024

For me it’s realising the only person that has to like me is me

Realising working consistent 70 hours weeks only benefits the company (I am salaried)

Getting my blood pressure under control

Spending time doing what I like doing

What are yours?

Somehow getting a promotion in a job I hate.

Finally knocking it on the head with my ex-fuck buddy.

Learning how to feel good about myself and be more confident.

I've made new actual friends though various activities.

I had my first holiday abroad in over 12 years.

Looking forward to more changes in 2025.

Traveling. I've been so incredibly lucky this year to do so much of it and I'm determined I'm not stopping.

Going on my first solo trip was big for me and I loved it. It was liberating and empowering.

My guest slot performing at the Edinburgh Fringe was also a highlight for me. I loved being back on stage.

I walked away fully from a situationship was freeing. It hurts, my heart is still broken but I realised my worth.

A better understanding that it's alright to be focused on achieving goals but we’re only here for one time so I made time to enjoy myself a bit more.

More quality time in my own company without others has been great.

Realising working in the retail sector over the holiday period genuinely sucks people become absolute wankers towards shop workers

It's ok to not be ok

Kier starmer can't run a country unless it's into the ground

Slipknot put on an amazing live show

I genuinely hate Christmas

So a good year all round here's to 2025

Actually taking a week off (normally only have 2 weeks off at Christmas then not a full week off till the next Christmas) during summer and taking my kids to Cornwall then to Weymouth to see my sister, was magical and made me regret spending so much time working whike they were growing up

Realisation.

Engaging in business with people, whom I have to rely upon you do their job, is no longer worth my time and energy. I am much happier working autonomously, without employees, employer or partners.

I love certain people, but people as a general concept pisses me right off.

At the end of last year an old friend died from a heart attack.

He had a few mobility issues, so during the pandemic I did my best to help him with a few bits and pieces. I also made sure I kept regular contact as he was otherwise completely isolated.

After the funeral, at the start of this year, his brother expressed his gratitude by giving me £5k towards a car.

Finally giving up the assassin gig. The money is getting worse and it’s a lonely life. I’m now off the Christmas card lists of so many gangsters, despots and dictators but, on the plus side, when I travel I don’t have to hide sniper rifles up my bum.
