A very dear friend died and I really struggled with that. That wasn't a great time.

But this year overall? Even more so given the shitshow of last, it's been wonderful. I've met someone who I should have met many years ago but now? The timing is right. I've become a lot calmer, far more... content I suppose. Appreciative of how beautiful things can be.

What really makes me happy is how many of my friends and family are happier. Their personal growth, learning so much about themselves. That brings me joy, pride and all the smushy stuff. 🩷

I couldn't have anticipated how this year would pan out. 2023 was tough but ended with the platform to grow and achieve. Then 2024 happened. 3 major blows that blindsided me. None of which could be foreseen. All of which helped each other.

I was hoping that I could draw a line under 2024 and start again in 2025 but it seems the gods have other plans and January looks like it'll also be a write off...

It’s been ok I guess

Worst parts was being diagnosed with the diabeetus out the blue earlier this year and all my electrical tools being pinched out my van

Best parts was getting away for a week just me and my 2 kids nowt flash just drove to Cornwall then to see my sister at Cornwall but loved it so much and taught me I need to take time out from work more often. Also the weather hasn’t cost us too many days work this time last year we had been off loads in the last 3 months with the constant rain

It's been incredibly difficult - going through a painful and messy fab breakup that dragged through most of the year.

But there have been amazing bright spots - great new connections...several group socials, my first FFM, amazing sex, fantastic dungeon time and most importantly amazing fab friends who listened to all the drama and supported with no judgement ♥️♥️♥️

The good - made friends on fab, had amazing sex with a few people. Best physical shape I'm ever in, looking to make more connections with people through fab either socials or in the bedroom.

The bad - my grandfather is extremely sick with cancer and we all think it will be his last Christmas with us. And I am trying to prepare myself for the inevitable, but it will absolutely destroy me when it happens. As he is the father figure in my life.

It has been a very uneventful and honestly quite meh year for me. Some low points like losing two of my lovely dogs this year and a tiny handful of enjoyable events well one which was going to a concert for the first time in years and really enjoying it. Having good friends but not having time to really meet them as much a I would like to. Not getting away like I had planned this year. It's just seems to be a year of work and home looking back on it. But no point in crying about it that's what happened so I just hope next year will be better.

Bought my first car since lockdown, passed a major professional certification first time, joined the gym for the first time in 15 years.

But, and I do say but, I feel like I’ve overachieved and completely burnt myself out doing so. 😅

We don't make plans as such long term, but enjoy life as it happens. It's been a decent year for us overall, worked hard and played harder.

Enjoyed lots of time with friends and family, and all our family are still with us which is the most important thing.

I shall be relieved when 2024 is over. Two bereavements...my best friend who had been ill then, not long after, my cousin died by suicide 💔😔

Relationships: I said goodbye to someone I've been in love with for nearly 6 years because it wasn't going anywhere. But then, stupidly, got involved with someone who turned out to be a f**king narcissist!! Thankfully, therapy is now helping me to get my head straight again.

Health: Long-term conditions have been complicated and I've just learned I have to go back to hospital in January (here we go again...🙄)

BUT, on the upside... 😊

I finished my Open Uni BA with upper second class honours and hopefully, I'll be well enough to attend a graduation ceremony next year.

And finally...

I became friends with a funny, beautiful, caring and supportive woman, here on Fab. When we met up for lunch, we had an amazing day... so much fun and laughter. However, I have been a terrible friend these last couple of months. I haven't given her the attention that she deserves, especially as she's been going through her own health issues. And I need to tell her how sorry I am for pushing her away and I really hope that she will forgive me xx

I'm so sorry for the long ramble people. I rarely visit the forum these days. But I've kept everything bottled up for so long, so thank you for letting me air it.
