What was that one present you wanted so badly as a child ?

Did you get it, did it disappoint or was it the best present ever ?

One year my mum asked us what we wanted and I really wanted a game boy. She bought me instead a handheld game thing that had like 1,000 games on it. Pretty sure 999 of were Tetris

I did get an Ed the duck with a squeaky beak one year. Loved that guy and took him everywhere even though I was a teenager lol.

Do you think mum was saving money or got it by mistake

Love the sound of Ed

The best one I had was a big Optimus prime.

The one I wanted but didn’t get was a Mr Frosty, until last week when someone got me one as a gift 🎁

I got one of those. Dark Bournville chocolate. Kids know nothing of the desire these days

There seems to be a theme here.

Never got a Mr. Frosty as a child. My mam knew they were shit because my cousins had them! Anyway, she got me one (for a laugh) as an adult, and I forgave her. She was right, it was shit.

I wouldn't bother getting our kids one either 😅

I used to get given the shittest version of everything I wanted. Usually it was bikes.

Want a bmx? Tough, have this second hand girl’s shopper instead.

Want a racer? Have the heaviest, slowest, worst coloured one we can find.

Want a mountain bike? Have a yellow one with road tyres.

I probably sound ungrateful, maybe I am, but we weren’t a poor family.

Everything I ever got... Some are more memorable but having realised in my teens what sacrificed so we could have them I learned very quickly to appreciate them all.
