Came true today. A kid told my kid that it's her fault [my child's] that I'm in a wheelchair.

I've expected it but always hoped I'd be wrong.

Le sigh

My daughter has been bullied at school for a few years. Kids can be so fucking mean. We have taught her to rise above anything other kids say x

I won't let the intrusive thoughts win but nothing a swift perfect comeback won't have fixed!

The worst thing about kids being the little shits they often are is that there will be a parent out there defending their kids behaviour "oh no, not mine, they would never!"

"They could have picked a time when my head wasn't already wayyyyyyy out of it.

It never works that way and always hits harder at those times but you're stronger than you think and I bet she is too.

Be kind yo yourself and maybe a word with the other mammy might not go a miss either ❤️

We know the child well and it's very out of character. All we can do is message the other parent and speak about it in January because we're away from the morning.

"Bloody hell KC.. What triggered them to say such a thing??? "

I have no idea. Unfortunately, my pregnancy and disability are directly related but to my knowledge, children at school don't know this or wouldn't cotton on.

So potentially the kid has overhead a parent discussing it

How is your daughter??

She seems okay. Mr KC only told me about it after she'd gone to bed. Not going to go into any more detail but we shall tackle it, but once we've boarded a plane tomorrow 🤦🏻‍♀️

There was an event yesterday afternoon in a church where parents could attend and, as usual, there was a wonderful spectacle of getting me inside (at the front, in front of the entire school). So yeah. Probably.

Kids can be cruel without knowing just how cruel it is.

I was no goody but had the sense to be thoughtful of what I say, however I assure you most of us have said things as kids that we are not proud of.

They grow up just like we all did.

That's all anyone can really do for now other than their parents 'trying' to get them to understand how damaging words can be.

Hope you and your daughter are OK!

Jay

Thanks Em and everyone. I'm feeling immensely delicate at the present time anyways, both physically and mentally. I'm leaving the inter-parental discussion in the hands of Mr KC.

I think we've packed everything. I think 75% of the contents is either my medication or wheelchair repair kit stuff

Kids are some of the cruelest going as they don't care about the impact there actions have. I'm so sorry your child has had to go through that

After yesterday's puncture exploits, the kit consists of puncture repair kit, 2 inner tubes, tyre levers, Allen keys etc.

And thank you
