"That sounds absolutely delicious. My favourite coffee is Yirhacheffe. It's Kenyan and I think it's lovely. I've only ever found it on line. Also some of the beans they have in Aldi are very nice. " Thanks so much, I will look into this. x

"Have a look at the ASDA Extra Special Range. Not one of the connoisseurs or brand gimps but honestly had 2 now and it’s some of the best ground coffee I’ve tasted. Pure delicious & a range of options from various countries. " Ok thanks for this

"I've heard that Kiss The Hippo™ do a marvellous Christmas blend ground coffee and also GRIND™ do one too. They are medium in depth, strength and flavour so that they can be enjoyed at any time, so as not to clash or overpower the palate when eating or grazing on most edibles associated with festive food." Great, thank you for these

It has never occurred to me to keep grind coffee in my hice. (Spoken in my best Charles III voice)

"For fresh ground you're best off finding a local cafe that sells beans, they'll grind it for you when you buy it, freshest you can get really. If you can get a grinder then even better, the difference is massive but a good grinder is pricey and a bad one is pointless." This is really helpful thanks. Maybe I should look into buying a grinder too.

"This is really helpful thanks. Maybe I should look into buying a grinder too. " Ah, the first step in spending all your money on coffee equipment. Welcome 🫡 Go look at the Fellow Opus. That's the sort of money you want to spend on a grinder if you want "a good one". Others exist, YouTube has lots of good videos on the subject. You can spend more for diminishing returns. If you can manage to thread the needle, both talking yourself into buying a good grinder (it's really worth it) and then not buying any other expensive coffee stuff (..less worth it), you win. Buy good coffee, dial in the grind, dump into an aeropress, that's the best bang/buck coffee you can get imo. v60, cafetiere, all good. Try not to get into home espresso, it'll ruin your life.

"Any with a number 3 rating , I would also recommend buying the beans and grinding yourself but problem is buying a cheap grinder, it will grind using blades instead of burrs, which is a complete waste of time you might as well buy ready ground. A better option is to buy it from somewhere that grinds it for you. Grindr is the most important thing, more important than the coffee you buy and more important than the device you used to make it Grindr...." Voice typing 🙀 It’s all in the grind….

"Buy a cheap grinder in Lidl or Aldi or Amazon guys then go to TK max and buy 3 coffees from 3 different far off places, and mix and match with them, say 1 scoop 5 strength 2 scoop 4strength 1 scoop 3 strength, you will end up with a far better coffee than anything you can buy. I used a strong Italian espresso bean as my base and blend in mix 3 or 4 brands I pick up in my travels, grind up enough for 1 week at a time, Currently using Arbuckle's (wild west coffee) with a sweet Peruvian and Moroccan, gets the gears moving until midday keeps the plumbing regulator, smells amazing, granted the spoon stands up on its own " I agree with getting a grinder, but if you're going cheap, you'd be better with a hand held grinder, any of the cheap Lidl/Aldi ones I've seen (and only seen two or three) are blade grinders and aren't really up to the job. "Might" be ok for v60 or french press. But wouldn't be any use for espresso either in mokka pot or machine. I was told it's like photography. It's better to spend your money on the lens (or in this case grinder) than the camera.

"My advice nothing from a supermarket or known branded range is going to be really good" Yeh, I've found this to be essentially true, the problem is that the beans can be months old by the time you're picking them up. Although I have seen people picking through the speciality brands in the supermarket to find ones that have been roasted within two weeks.. sometimes they even find something..
