A long time ago, staggering back to my college residence, a copper stopped me staggering into the road..I grabbed his radio and shouted down 'beam me up spock, I'm pissed '..he flagged down a taxi heading my way and asked him to drop me off at residence..then kicked me up the arse as I got in the taxi...old school policing,does similar things still happen?

They still kick you up the arse or smack you round the head, but make sure there's a "glitch" on their bodycam before they do.

Only time I got pulled over was for allegedly tailgating someone. One was Good Cop the other Bad Cop, both playing tennis with questioning on what I was doing roaming about at 3am. I think they understood I was post coital but didn't like me asking how they would know without being alongside me. Nearly got towed as I didn't have any ID - like everyone should have it.
