In alphabetical order….

Jude Bellingham - Real Madrid and England footballer

Luke Littler - darts phenomenon, running up at the world championships and winner of the darts premier league

Dame Sarah Storey - double Paralympic winning cyclist, 19 in total

Alex Yee - men’s world and Olympic triathlon gold medalist

So… have at it!

"Luke Littler all day long."

Has anyone seen his birth certificate? He looks older than me! 😳

And as Ellie Kildunne has been scandalously omitted from the 2024 shortlist, of the candidates there is only one winner surely... and what an amazing Storey...

Keeley.

I'm very tempted to say Same Sarah but she's had loads of recognition for her (epic) achievements. Keeley deserves far more recognition than she gets.

"Mark Cavendish

For being married to Peta,23 of Essex"

Not only that…but written off in 2021 but produced one of the greatest sporting comebacks of all time by winning 4 stages of the TdeF that year. Then this year surpassing the great Eddy Merckx to take the all time tour stage record.

He is the greatest sprinter the sport of cycling has seen as well as the greatest cyclist the UK has known.

He would be elevated to god like status in other countries…. Must have upset the director general at the BBC not to be nominated.

Mark Cavendish or Sarah Storey. But like all the other great sportsman and world champions that compete on two wheels, he's been overlooked.

Isn’t it the most dullest of dull award ceremonies. There’s so little personality in the room you can hear the motors in the lights moving.

Another one for Cav- one of the best and most entertaining cyclists in the 40 years I’ve been watching TDF & bike racing. Absolute machine that rides with passion and power, truly worth of the description of legend!

Tai Woffinden get on a bike with no brakes and accelerating as fast as a formula 1 car would get my vote.

That's because dart players are not fucking sportsmen...it's only TV that's made it more than a fucking pub game.

Keely or Alex Yee
