Where the streets have no name

This week I watched again, after many years, The Name of the Rose. For me, William of Barkerville (the late Sean Connery), is one of the best "detectives" in the movies.

Who is yours?

Not strictly detectives but Kevin Costner/Sean Connery in The Untouchables and Tom Hanks in Catch Me If You Can.

The ideal one might be a mix of Harry Callahan & Ace Ventura..

I quite liked Peter Ustinov's Hercule Poirot.

I always thought he was a good actor.

Does scooby doo count as detective I think he does. Scooby doo gets my vote as a best detective, along with those pesky kids
