Just walked into work to a Engineer working on a piece of our equipment belting out The best of Ed Vedder on the 80"screen ,

Now I'm a big PJ fan so I'm in my happy place in the office listening to his play set,

2 of the intern's have never heard of him,( I'd sack them if I could)

But I'm here trying to argue that Ed Vedder might have the greatest of all Great voices, they are looking at me like I got 3 heads,

Who's with me on this ,and if not him who have you got folks??

Eddie Vedder has a great voice, it’s powerful but mellow too kind of voice. Spotify wrapped has his solo song “Room at the top” as my most played of the year.

I love Eddie's voice, my top 3 would have to be Eddie, Chris Cornell and Myles Kennedy in no particular order

Eddie and PJ are stunning.

The killing of hair metal was accounted to Nevermind but for me it was 10, PJ on MTV Unplugged and the movie Singles.

Seen them 3 times including earlier this year when touring with Dark Matter (my 2nd favourite PJ album - yes over Vs) and they were as good as ever. 🎸🎶

10 and then Vrs were far better than the Nirvana buzz at the time, imo

He`s good, I`ll grant that, but to beat Danny Bowes of Thunder you really have to go some...

Pearl Jam's Ten is still in my top 5 albums ever, and Eddie does have an amazing voice. He was from a time and a genre where there were many excellent silken but gravel-voiced leads, my absolute favourite being Mark Lanegan (RIP) of Screaming Trees.  Notable mentions too to Chris Cornell (also RIP) of Soundgarden and Layne Stnaley (ALSO RIP) from Alice in Chains.

I’ve never really listened to PJ, no real reason, just haven’t, but I agree he has a strong distinctive voice that is well up there with all of the many great rock voices.

Pretty much everyone I loved from the grunge scene is dead. Thankfully Dylan Carlson is still with us.

Pearl Jam were/are great. Always loved Mother Love Bone a little bit more (Pearl Jam - but with Andrew Wood. Also RIP). His death inspired Temple Of The Dog - that’s a belting album/band.

As for vocalists…Mike Patton. Total legend.

I'll be honest, I've never enjoyed Chris Cornell's voice. Everyone else seems to think he's the greatest but it just doesn't sound full enough. It's a bit Gene Simmons-y

That's the only reason Why I have heard of him. The song was on the soundtrack for the movie dead man walking, it's a haunting tune if you watch the film too.
