We just put up our Christmas tree and have named it Cuthbert Girdlestone, after the author of a book I'm reading. The name amused me. It sounds like it's straight out of the Horatio Hornblower stories.

Have you named any inanimate objects? What have you called them and why?

It was indeed a Peugeot

It did a splendid job on some very tough terrain and a teeny tiny engine.

I used to have 3 plant pots on my windowsill with herbs in, that I named after the Jonas brothers :D

If anyone’s wondering.. Nick was parsley, Joe was basil, and Kevin was chives!

We name everything in our house. Herself loves Game of Thrones and as this is our 5th Xmas together the tree is called "Terence, the 5th of his name.

We have a ficus called Jeffrey, and our cars and vans have various names. New van is called Ivan, (geddit?) And our old one was Myles, (geddit?)

The naming list is endless, dont even ask about the rooms of the house! Yep, even those...
