What Christmas traditions do you have? See if you can inspire someone to start a new one.

We go to the pantomime every christmas.

We eat copious amounts of air fryer cheeses when putting up the Christmas tree and decs.

There's usually a festive cinema trip.

We do a mini shop of things to put in the local supermarket foodbank trolley.

We have cake for Christmas day breakfast

I grew up in a very church going family and there are some beautiful traditions and community values to be had within organised religion

When I was with the kids Dad we woul go to his parents for Christmas in Devon. The whole extended family and dogs would go to the beach for a walk before Christmas dinner

When I was with the kids Dad we woul go to his parents for Christmas in Devon. The whole extended family and dogs would go to the beach for a walk before Christmas dinner

Yes the Boxing Day walk with the various family groups, dogs running about, usually the Charnwood woodlands or country parks, then a hot chocolate to warm up

Presents

Chocolates and sweets

Usually games from the presents. Last year it started with throwing hoops on inflatable reindeer antler headdress. There was much rejoicing.

Alcohol usually enters the fray at this point and visitors join in.

There's generally a playful atmosphere, sprinkled with the sharing of anecdotes and nostalgia.

Then the mother of all Christmas dinners, usually 3 meats, not including the kilted sausages, stuffing and Yorkshire pudding.

Alcohol now shifts into spirits from wine and there is much rejoicing.

People then take the knock and make their way home. Possibly some minor drama.

A film usually goes on, or a board game.

Baileys & mince pies whilst putting the tree up, followed by A Christmas Carol.

We've borrowed an Austrian tradition, we play Stille Nacht at 5pm on Xmas Eve & that starts the festivities.

Smoked Salmon & Cream Cheese blinis for breakfast on Xmas morning, with Bucks Fizz.

Oh lots of things!

Always forage and make a wreath. Normally with generous amounts of alcohol and a festive film soundtrack.

A lot of baking. Loved ones and dear friends I see at this time of year always get a goodie box of festive treats. This year's included homemade cinnamon roll blondies, milkyway brownies, shortbread Christmas trees, some cute marshmallows, chocolate coins, mini gingerbread... you get the idea.

Christmas Light Switch on! It's so very cute. Busy as fuck but really festive.

Filling a bag with nice toiletries and donating it to a charity close by who work with women's refuges. Basics tend to be covered as people are more likely to be charitable at this time of year so I like to give a bit different (stuff still asked for though!).

The Boxing Day Toastie. All the cheeseboard cheese, smashed roasties, turkey, pigs in blankets, shredded sprouts dunked in gravy. So good. Perfect for a lazy meal after all the festivities.

A long walk on Christmas Eve that includes a coffee shop visit. It's so lovely to take that time to just stop and relax. Breathe before the following day.

Watching Muppets/Gremlins whilst making paperchains/stars.

Speaking to dear friends and seeing my many, many siblings and their families and the chaos of my poor mother's house. My fiancé's awkwardness at the chaos.

I love spending time with people at this time of year.

Land of the Long White Cloud

The traditions I carry on from my family are making Christmas cake, Christmas pudding and brandy butter.

I've been trying to start some new traditions with my husband and kids.

Last year we had Xmas at the holiday house for the first time.

Started the day with a swim and canoeing at the lake then had a lovely BBQ lunch with yummy salads and finished it off with pavlova and my Mother-in-law's trifle.

Hoping this becomes our new tradition.

Getting the Radio Times the day it’s published - even though there’s not that much decent tv on anymore!

Wrapping presents while watching Christmas films.

Christmas morning run followed by a full English (the one day we really don’t need it) and reading a book while breaking into a chocolate orange after.

Boxing Day bike ride.

Turkey and chips for Boxing Day lunch.
